Congenital Heart Disease

Patient care through every stage of life

Patient care through every stage of life

From fetal echo to mature adult, the iE33 system supports the assessment of congenital heart disease through every stage of life and provides new diagnostic information that is changing patient management. Everything about the system is designed to meet the specific needs of pediatric cardiology, helping to make decision making more efficient and outcomes more effective.

The iE33 system has a number of features that benefit both you and your patients:

  • Unique ergonomic features make it possible to image the tiniest preemie or the largest adult in many different environments.
  • Pediatric analysis follows the patient the way you want – so you don’t have to alter your workflow.
  • Advanced technologies give you the image quality and structural information you need.
  • A full complement of transducers, including pediatric and adult TEEs, enables you to image a complex range of patients – regardless of age, disease state, or body composition.

Fetal echo
Fetal echo on the iE33 system is supported with Philips PureWave transducer technology. The

C5-1 PureWave curved array transducer provides exceptional image quality across your patient population, including technically-challenging patients. You’ll see excellent differentiation between fluid (vessels) and tissue, edge detection, and highly sensitive color flow imaging with visibility of flow in small vessels. As well, our fetal analysis is designed specifically for pediatric cardiology with pediatric analysis workflow and essential fetal biometrics.

Neonates and infants
Imaging of small babies and infants is facilitated with Philips Live 3D Echo in a very small format. The X7-2 transducer combines two very powerful technologies – xMATRIX and PureWave – including fully-functional Live 3D tools, plus analysis and workflow designed for pediatric patients.

The S12-4 Sector Array transducer is specifically optimized for neonates, able to visualize very small structures with highly sensitive color flow Doppler and images through very small acoustic windows of neonates.

The S8-3 Sector Array transducer is specifically optimized for infants, has excellent color flow and Doppler sensitivity, and superb imaging access through small acoustic windows of infants.

The benefits of transesophogeal echo are now available to the smallest patients, with the microTEE transducer. A miniaturized multiplane transducer designed specifically for patients weighing below 3.5 kg, the microTEE.

Growing up

As your patients grow, you can count on Philips to help you follow their progress. The iE33 system provides solutions at every stage in life.

Imaging children is facilitated with PureWave and xMATRIX technologies, Live 3D Echo, and pediatric analysis designed by pediatric cardiologists. QLAB software provides comprehensive 2D and 3D quantification on cart, on a PC workstation, and on Xcelera. You can select from a wide range of transducers for transthoracic and transesophageal imaging, allowing you to obtain excellent imaging results for review at any time.
