Virtual Colonoscopy

Virtual Colonoscopy is a way of imaging a colonoscopy noninvasively

Virtual colonoscopy is a computer software program that uses x-ray images to model an individual’s colon. The virtual colonoscopy derived from computed tomography (CT) images is a non-invasive technique of looking at the colon. The virtual colonoscopy package from Philips is designed to be easy for the physician to use and easy for the patient to experience.

Philips offers the Perspective filet view – unfolds colon and displays it flat like a landscape over which the user can roll. Polyps can be hidden by the natural folds of the colon. Viewing the information in this perspective rather than as a tube is an easy way for physicians to find polyps.
