Currently we are the only global healthcare company that offers a real-time dose meter solution. The standard thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) reports on accumulated radiation dose exposure after a period of time.
DoseAware provides instant, time-stamped feedback in the examination room so staff can immediately adjust their working habits to minimize radiation exposure. DoseAware does not replace the TLD as a legal dose meter.

Radiation exposure is a growing concern

How our DoseAware dose meter system works Staff working in an X-ray environment wear a Personal Dose Meter (PDM). It measures the X-ray dose received and is wirelessly connected to the BaseStation, which is mounted in the examination room. All staff can see in a glance if their received dose is in the red, yellow, or green area. They can then take action to reduce their X-ray exposure if possible. |

Dose Manager supports healthy working practices
All X-ray dose history information from our Personal Dose Meters can be automatically retrieved by the optional DoseManager software.It collects all data for reporting, exporting, and archiving. Reports on trends, rooms, procedures, etc. can be used to develop and maintain occupational safety procedures for people working in X-ray environments.

Ways to lower your X-ray dose while working - Wear DoseAware personal dose meter for instant feedback on radiation exposure
- Wear protective lead aprons and a lead thyroid collar to shield yourself from scatter radiation as appropriate
- Use shielding screens to shield yourself from scatter radiation
- Avoid standing in the direct path of the X-ray beam
- Move farther away from the X-ray source
- Limit the total X-ray beam-on time
- Select low dose rate fluoroscopy to reduce the amount of radiation emitted
- Avoid oblique lateral projections
- Keep the SID low and the table high
- Use collimation and limited beam size to reduce radiation exposure
