Webinar - October 14, 2008

How will Medicare’s new imaging policies on accreditation and appropriateness affect you?

Get the inside scoop on the "Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008" and how it will impact your practice or center.

The new MIPPA law calls for providers of advanced diagnostic imaging services (CT, MR, Nuclear Medicine and PET) to be accredited by 2012 in order to receive payment for the technical component of those services. The law also establishes a two-year voluntary demonstration program to test the use of physician-developed appropriateness criteria.

These policies could change how you practice, the services you provide, whom you hire, and, ultimately, your bottom line.

Join us for a special webinar session on October 14, 2008, 1:30–2:45 p.m. ET, to learn more about these requirements and what they mean for you.

Among the questions we’ll address:

  • How will the process for obtaining accreditation work?
  • What is the timeline?
  • Are there any “do’s and don’ts”?
  • Do Medicare’s requirements differ from private payers or RBMs?
  • How will the appropriateness criteria project benefit you?
  • How will it change your practice?

The session will feature experts on all elements of accreditation and appropriateness:

  • Sandra Katanick, Chief Executive Officer, Intersocietal Accreditation Commission
  • Mark Rayder, Senior Policy Adviser, Alston & Bird
  • Laura Coombs, Director of Data Registries, American College of Radiology
  • Joseph Allen, Director, Translating Research into Practice, American College of Cardiology
