CROSSHOUSE HOSPITAL’S A & E DEPARTMENT PURCHASES PHILIPS HD3 ULTRASOUND SYSTEM

Philips HD3 ultrasound system offers powerful capabilities in a compact package.

 

CrosshouseHospital, Kilmarnock recently purchased Philips HD 3 ultrasound scanner for use in the A & E Department.   The hospital is one of the largest District General Hospitals in Scotland is part of the NHS Ayrshire & Arran Hospitals Division and is responsible for the provision of hospital services for North Ayrshire and Arran.     The Hospital is undergoing a £12.8m programme of investment to provide new and improved facilities, with the first phase of the redevelopment, the modernisation of the A & E Department, now complete.   The second phase includes a new day surgery unit, a new endoscopy unit, and the upgrading and renovation of the existing theatre suite.

 

Described as the smallest, easiest-to-use and most mobile HD ultrasound system, the Philips HD3 is ideally suited for use in A & E, being lightweight and easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces.  In addition, it has all the design features, common to Philips portfolio of ultrasound systems including a height adjustable control panel and unique fold-down flat panel monitor, providing ergonomic positioning to help reduce work-related strain injuries and allow shared patient viewing.

 

It comes with a comprehensive selection of analysis packages and measurements, and features high definition digital imaging with optional colour Doppler and freehand 3D imaging.     Its broadband digital beamformer captures and preserves more tissue information than conventional narrow-band systems and its wide dynamic range and digital focal tuning provide exceptional sensitivity and detail resolution.
