UnitedHealth Group has extended the deadline for labs to apply for accreditation to the 3rd Quarter of 2008, according to the American Society of Echocardiography. Labs were originally required to submit applications for echocardiography lab accreditation by March 1, 2008. Due to feedback from professionals in the field and the time commitment that accreditation requires, UnitedHealth Group is now allowing more time for labs to complete the process.
