Description:

Volumetric University is a complete three day program that provides a solid foundation in the principles and clinical application of Volumetric Imaging (3D/4D) in Women's Healthcare with training emphasis on the iU22 ultrasound system. This instructor-led didactic and hands-on program covers the basics of image acquisition along with volume set manipulation using Philips QLAB software. A special session on fetal echocardiography and STIC (spatial temporal image correlation) will be held on the third day. The course will also include a session on xMatrix technology.

 

Objectives:

• Recognize the importance that 2D image quality plays in obtaining a good 3D volume

• Summarize advantages of 3D imaging over 2D imaging

• Explain the usefulness of the multiplanar reformatted views (MPR)

• Become proficient with the user interface and the manipulation of system data sets

• Provide sufficient hands-on practice acquiring 3D, 4D and STIC datasets

• Become familiar with xMatrix technology along with manipulations

Attendee clothing:  Attendees should dress informally and comfortably.  While evenings are spent in a clinical setting, there is no patient contact.  Days are long and intense.  Comfort should be a major consideration.

All attendees should be aware that facilities may be relatively cold, so sweaters and sweatshirts or some other layered clothing is recommended.  Experience has shown that attendees vary remarkably in room temperature preferences
