With the growing number of people in the U.S. living in homes with only wireless phones, the cellular accessory will help broaden the reach of Philips’ customers’ telemonitoring programs, allowing greater access to health information.
The device provides connectivity for Philips’ telemonitoring devices in patient homes where there is no phone line or DSL available. The accessory allows transmission of patient data and survey responses to Philips’ secure server via a cellular network. During the testing phase, the cellular accessory successfully transmitted data throughout various regions of the country, including urban, suburban, and rural areas.
“We are delighted to offer our customers a new way to help expand their telemonitoring programs,” said Paul Bromberg, vice president and general manager, Philips Remote Patient Monitoring. “The cellular accessory is an easy-to-use, reliable solution to help provide greater access to telehealth.”
