Brilliance CT Big Bore

Oncology Configuration

4D imaging without compromise
With an 85cm bore and true 60cm scan field of view, Philips Brilliance CT Big Bore Oncology configuration builds on the market leading success of our AcQSim single-slice CT scanner and leads the way to 4D visualization.

The 85 cm bore size enables you to scan patients with immobilization devices, patient monitoring, intravenous delivery devices, respiratory devices and other apparatus without compromising image quality or positioning.

Convenient tools
On board oncology-specific protocols and software features include:

  • Tumor L.O.C (or Localization On C onsole) – At the scanner console, a clinician can run a simple simulation (using this Philips exclusive software) to quickly localize the tumor and accurately mark the patient.  This information can then be exported to the AcQSim3 simulation workstation or Pinnacle3 planning system, improving accuracy and increasing throughput by simplifying the CT simulation process.
  • Respiratory correlated imaging – Philips Pulmonary Toolkit for oncology enables visualization of multiple lung phases, minimizing motion artifacts and improving clinical confidence.  Respiratory correlated imaging can take place both prospectively and retrospectively – giving clinicians the tools necessary to assesses organ motion and define the target volumes according to the clinical requirements of 4D treatment.

Part of an integrated solution
Combine our Brilliance CT Big Bore, with AcQSim3 CT simulation and our Pinnacle3 radiation therapy planning system and you’ve got the most complete and advanced line of integrated radiation oncology 4D workflow solutions.

Features and Benefits

  • 85cm bore size to accommodate patients in immobilization devices or with bulky patient monitoring devices
  • 60cm true Scan Field of View (SFOV) to include all patient skin surface – no compromise when using the scan for radiation dose calculations
  • 16-slice per revolution with 2.4cm coverage allows you to cover larger areas  while saving time
  • Oncology specific tools to increase throughput such as, oncology protocols and Philips’ exclusive absolute patient marking.
  • Tumor L.O.C. (Localization On the Console) increases workflow
  • Respiratory correlated imaging with connectivity to third-party gating devices
  • Patient couch assembly to meet TG66 demands of oncology departments

"From the start, we were

extremely satisfied with this new system, not just with the imaging quality, which is superb even outside the 60 cm FOV, but also with the standard of engineering."
