2005 Guidelines Update Programs

American Heart Association

With Philips, you don’t need to take on the hassle and responsibility of updating your devices to Guidelines 2005 yourself.  Philips will do the work for you.  With the Philips Guidelines 2005 Exchange Program, Philips will send you a replacement device that is compliant with Guidelines 2005.  Once you receive your replacement device, simply place your old device in the shipping box your replacement device came in, and ship it back to us using the shipping documentation provided. Philips pays for the shipping both ways.

Devices originally shipped to you after Guidelines 2005 were announced (November 28, 2005) will be updated at no charge (offer expires 3/31/07).

Devices shipped prior to this date will be updated for a fee (offer expires 12/31/07).  Consult your local Philips representative for prices in your area.  For FRx, FR2+ and OnSite models originally shipped to you prior to when Guidelines 2005 were announced, Philips will also extend the warranty when you order an update.

Consult with your Medical Director before changing your response protocol.

To take advantage of this Guidelines 2005 Exchange Program, simply ask your Philips representative for the appropriate Guidelines 2005 Update Request form(s), and order the appropriate update product numbers and quantities, as directed on the form.  In the US, you can also download the forms directly from this website.  We are required to ask that you provide your device serial numbers on your order.  Fax the completed form(s) to Philips (USA) or your Philips dealer.  You will be sent a replacement device(s) configured for Guidelines 2005.

Special Update Program for FR2/FR2+ Customers with Many Devices

In addition to the Guidelines 2005 Exchange Program, FR2/FR2+ customers with many devices can order a Guidelines 2005 FR2 Owner Upgrade Kit and update all their own devices.

The Owner Upgrade Kit consists of a Training and Administration Pack and special data card with the latest FR2+ software (version 1.7) and the Guidelines 2005 configuration settings. You can update a device in less than 5 minutes.

With all FR2/FR2+ Guidelines 2005 update programs, you also receive SMART CPR and Quick Shock, Philips’ latest therapy innovations designed to help you capitalize on the newest science revealing the benefits of maximizing CPR.

Note:  There is a set of early FR2s for which a Guidelines 2005 upgrade entails a change of both software and hardware.  These must be returned to the Philips factory to be upgraded to Guidelines 2005.
