The Wee Focus program extends over a six-month time period and is ideal for the team new to practice improvement or focused on a single clinical practice initiative. Using adult-teaching principles and aligning with evidence-based best practices, the learner will select one of four best practice categories as their project focus. The best practice categories include: 1) feeding, 2) positioning, 3) respiratory, and 4) family-centered care. The best practices associated with each of these topics frame the clinical content for a Wee Focus program.
What you will learn:
- How to implement evidence-based best practices for your selected initiative
- How to translate research into clinical care delivery
- How to sustain the practice change successfully
- How to publish success
Program activities include:
- Pre-program site visit and data collection related to the selected practice improvement
- Four-hour, instructor-led educational workshop (max 35 attendees per workshop)
- A strategic planning workshop for project champions
- Bi-weekly progress calls
- Two instructor-led follow-up visits
- One on-site summary visit
