Description

Part 1 Introduction to Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an exciting new modality that measures the metabolic activity of cells in the human body. PET is an important modality because PET images can demonstrate pathologic changes in the human body before they are seen on the other imaging modalities. In Part 1 of the four part series on Introduction to PET, we will review “What is PET Imaging?” the physical principles of PET, instrumentation, radiopharmaceuticals, and PET imaging systems, including PET/CT.

Part 2 Introduction to Positron Emission Tomography - PET Procedure

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an exciting new modality that measures the metabolic activity of cells in the human body. PET is an important modality because PET images can demonstrate pathologic changes in the human body before they are seen on the other imaging modalities. In Part Two of this series, you will learn about the patient interview process, patient preparation, and protocol items for the PET procedure, image presentation, and normal variants seen in PET images.

Part 3 Clinical Applications of PET - Oncology

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an exciting new modality that measures the metabolic activity of cells in the human body. In Part 3 Clinical Applications of PET – Oncology, you will learn how PET is being used in the diagnosis, staging, and management of a variety of cancer types such as lung, breast, colorectal, esophageal, lymphoma, melanoma and head and neck cancers. The Oncology protocol will be reviewed including the patient preparation and scanning procedure.

Part 4 Clinical Applications of PET - Cardiac & Neuro

In Part 4 Clinical Applications of PET – Neuro & Cardiac, you will learn the PET Cardiac protocol and the Neuro protocol including the patient preparation and scanning procedure. You will also learn how PET is being used in the diagnosis, staging, and management of a variety of cardiac diseases including coronary artery disease and myocardial viability and how PET is being used in the diagnosis, staging, and management of a variety of CNS diseases.
