Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Fast, detailed, economic imaging

Bringing value to orthopedics

Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) provides a viable alternative for imaging of muscles, tendons, ligaments and bony surfaces.

Philips HD11 XE and iU22 ultrasound systems display excellent clarity of soft tissues, often allowing visualization of subtle anomalies without the need for X-ray or MR.

MSUS is widely available and less expensive than other imaging methods.

  1. It's finding logical application in areas such as sports medicine, pain management, orthopedic surgery, even rheumatology.
  2. It is mobile, non-invasive, painless, uses no ionizing radiation, and delivers results quickly.
  3. Ultrasound provides real-time imaging, making it a good choice for guiding minimally invasive procedures such as needle biopsies and needle aspiration of fluid in joints or elsewhere.

Diagnostic and interventional MSUS can play an important role and positively impact your bottom line.

iU22 - premium ultrasound

Our Philips Intelligent Ultrasound (iU22) system gives you tools that can increase diagnostic confidence and support clinical decision making:

  • Exceptional image quality
  • Ease-of-use
  • Automated quantification
  • Improved workflow solutions

Broadband linear array transducers offer superb superficial imaging and can be used for advanced musculoskeletal volumetric interrogation and real-time display.

Protocol driven exams

Now the iU22 system can create efficiencies by automating your standard protocols. Whether for knee, elbow, or shoulder, each exam becomes easily reproducible. Just select the appropriate protocol.

  • A list of required views guides sonographers through exam.
  • Annotations for each view are automatically added.
  • Measurements are automatically entered into the report.

You benefit from increased efficiency, more consistent results, reduced risk of missed views and a shift in focus from equipment operation to clinical pathology.

Hd11 XE - high definition ultrasound

The Philips HD11 XE is a complete, digital imaging system that delivers high-definition imaging and ease-of-use in an ergonomic and highly mobile package. This system is built on an upgradeable platform to allow full customization to protect your investment.

New levels of diagnostic confidence

Both our HD11 XE and iU22 systems employ clinically proven image enhancement technologies.

SonoCT is a unique approach to overcoming the inherent artifacts of conventional ultrasound. SonoCT acquires up to nine lines of sight, in real time and without any special transducer maneuvers, and combines the individual images into one very clear well-defined image. Images display striking levels of tissue differentiation that are virtually free of artifact.

XRES technology takes advantage of system supercomputing power. It is a powerful, adaptive image-processing technique that performs real-time analysis of patterns, and refines ultrasound images in real time. XRES virtually eliminates speckle noise artifact, dramatically enhances tissue margins, and improves tissue conspicuity.

SonoCT and XRES work in tandem to display images with breathtaking clarity and accuracy, adding to your diagnostic confidence and allowing you to make patient management decisions earlier.
