This information is effective as of July 2003.
This page lists disinfectants that have been tested with your Philips transducers and are compatible with the material used in the transducers. Use of any other disinfectants can void your system warranty and service contract.

WARNING
If you use CIDEX OPA Solution (CIDEX OPA), residual solution may remain on your transducers if you do not carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions. Residual CIDEX OPA on TEE transducers may cause the following:
- Temporary staining of the mouth and lip area
- Irritation or chemical burns of the mouth, throat, esophagus and stomach
To minimize any effects from residual CIDEX OPA, or any other disinfectant, Philips recommends that you:
Note: Use of CIDEX OPA on the 21336A (E6509) endovaginal/endorectal transducer will stain it. This staining is not toxic and presents no hazard to anyone in contact with the transducer. It will not change the function of the transducer.
Caution: The use of any non-glutaraldehyde-based disinfectant other than CIDEX OPA on the 21336A, 21364A, 21367A, 21369A, 21378A, 21381A, 21390A, and 21336A transducers may cause damage to your transducer. Damage caused by such use is not covered by the warranty or your service contract.
