| When Quality Patient Care is Simply Essential. |
| | The Essential is a Patient Monitor designed specifically for improved clinical workflow and patient safety during transport of a patient in the MRI environment, while also providing improved technical and environmental performance as a stand-alone MRI pulse-oximeter compared to its predecessor, the 4500 MRI Pulse Oximeter (model 3109 series). These improvements include color touch screen operation, alarm light, wireless patient connection, lightweight portable design, flexible mounting options and an unrestricted gauss rating outside the MR system bore up to a 3 Tesla MRI System, all of which improves the clinical workflow . Compared to its predecessor, the Essential MRI Patient Monitor’s environmental benefits are its exclusion of lead-acid batteries in design, a 48% reduction in energy use, 72% reduction in product weight, 32% reduction in packaging weight and 55% improvement of the environmental impact of the total life cycle. | | | | | | | Intellibridge EC40/80 system |
| | The green product Intellibridge EC40/80 system is of a set of hardware and software components, that is used for acquiring, transforming, mapping, and the subsequent routing of data from electronic bedside patient-care devices to the Philips IntelliVue Clinical Information Portfolio, a remote clinical information system. Intellibridge EC40/80 can serve more patient beds with one Intellibridge SC50 than its predecessor system, the Device Link, and thus more patient data is sent to the central monitoring systems from one device. This is accomplished in a smaller, lighter, more user friendly device. Compared to its predecessor, the Intellibridge System’s benefits include a 67% reduction in energy use, 13% reduction in product weight, 5% reduction in packaging weight and an improvement of the environmental impact of the total life cycle of 53%. | | | | | | Respironics AF531 oro-nasal mask for noninvasive ventilation | | | The Respironics AF531 oro-nasal mask simplifies routine care in a hospital setting with features that allow clinical interventions, such as fiber optic bronchoscopy and nebulized medication delivery, while continuing to noninvasive ventilation. The AF531 CapStrap headgear supports quick removal and reapplication. The result is patient comfort, compliance and clinician ease of use. However, we didn’t stop with clinical features. Environmental and sustainability improvements were also built into the packaging requirements. Improvements included using recycled and recyclable materials, reducing package thickness and paper instruction sheets and eliminating redundant packaging and adhesive stickers. For just the outer package, the material thickness was reduced by 50% resulting in significant reduction in plastic consumption while improving accessibility to the product and sizing gauge. | | | | | X5-1 Ultrasound Transducer | | | The Philips X5-1 delivers outstanding clinical performance in all modes. Go from 2D to 3D imaging at the press of a button to quickly integrate volume imaging into routine exams. Take advantage of PureWave crystal technology to capture crisp, high-resolution images of even your technically challenging patients. Use iRotate electronic transducer rotation for better 2D imaging and to eliminate LV foreshortening. The environmental improvements to the X5-1 were made in the Green Focal Areas of Product Weight and Hazardous Substances. Compared to its predecessor, the X5-1’s ergonomic form factor has reduced weight by 21% and hazardous substances have been reduced by 97% for a total life cycle assessment improvement of 22%. | | | | | X6-1 Ultrasound Transducer | | | The revolutionary X6-1 PureWave xMATRIX array transducer harnesses the power of over 9000 active elements (more than 35 times conventional transducers) to capture crisp, high resolution images of even your technically challenging patients. The X6-1’s next generation beamformer technology features ultra-thin slice imaging that extends across the entire range to reduce artifacts and deliver exceptional quality 2D images. It offers extraordinary tissue uniformity for improved texture pattern resolution, as well as clear discrimination among near, mid and far microstructures. The X6-1 includes the Live xPlane feature which allows clinicians to create two full-resolution images simultaneously, capturing twice as much clinical information in the same amount of time. The X6-1 also brought environmental improvements in the Green Focal Areas of reduction of Hazardous Substances, Reliability and Energy Consumption. Compared to its predecessor, the X6-1 has reduced hazardous substances by 86%, improved reliability by 6% and reduced energy consumption by 2.7%. | | |
