Simplifying time-of-flight

Time-of-Flight uses an extremely precise measurement (measured in the billionths of a second) of photon arrival times to more precisely localize the anhilation event. This additional information about every event collected, boosts the sensitivity of the system, especially for larger patients. The result:

  • Less noise in the image, enabling clearer images and better image quality
  • A more consistent level of image quality across patients of different sizes
  • Faster PET scans
