Computed Tomography

Designed specifically for your oncology department, our CT solutions put the most accurate imaging, localization, and simulation tools at your fingertips.

Working closely with oncologists we’ve developed the Brillance CT Big Bore Oncology system.  A CT with customized hardware and software features that help you and your staff maximize department workflow.

Covering all the Bases
With Philips CT you have all the critical clinical information and software capabilities you need to accurately and efficiently:

  • Define the tumor volume
  • Identify the target isocenter
  • Mark the patient
  • Simulate treatment

And you can do it all from one console.

Our Brilliance Big Bore CT helps streamline your efforts to tailor the most precise treatment course for each individual patient.

Productivity tools
Our Oncology CT platform offers unique functionality that can enhance accuracy, eliminate unnecessary steps, and save time.

Here are a few examples of the ‘Powerful productivity tools’ incorporated into the Brilliance CT Workspace console:

  • Tumor Localization on Console (L.O.C.) with absolute marking ensures precise localization and patient marking
  • 4D Respiratory Correlated Imaging allows you to identify and compensate for target motion due to breathing
  • Dual Surview feature automatically establishes orthogonal reference points
  • Open and direct transfer of DICOM images, DICOM RT, and DICOM RT Plan to treatment planning system

Together, these establish a new standard for seamless integration of information and improved departmental efficiency.

Overcoming restrictions

Other systems have limitations when it comes to precisely duplicating the patient’s treatment position for accurate localization and simulation.  We took your input seriously, and designed our Oncology CT system so that it overcomes these restrictions.

  • Our industry leading 85cm bore opening accommodates the full range of patient positioning and set-up requirements without compromise
  • Staff can quickly position even large patients and those with IV, respiratory or other monitoring and immobilizing devices in the scanner comfortably.
  • CT patient table meets the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM’s) Task Group 66 recommendations for Quality Assurance

Benefits of multi-slice CT in oncology

We’re able to draw on our vast experience in advanced imaging to deliver the latest generation CT system to oncologists, with image quality and performance that enhances your ability to localize the tumor, define tumor volume, and simulate treatment.

  • Unsurpassed diagnostic image quality with high spatial resolution
  • Advanced image processing and display capabilities
  • Flexible slice thickness
  • Incredible speed
  • 2nd generation MRC x-ray tube
  • A true 60cm scan field of view

How it benefits you
Our CT offers you the advanced image quality, speed, and complete functionality to take full advantage of current and future targeted treatment delivery techniques.  We can help you accomplish localization and simulation in a single patient episode.  And our productivity tools and intelligent workflow design allow your staff to complete this critical process from a single console, in less time, and with more accuracy than ever before.

It’s a solution we think makes sense for both you and your patients.

The improved position we

get by using the bellows device, helps us to build more precise 3-dimensional CT scans in certain specific phases of breathing. Consequently, it improves the whole 4 dimensional planning process.

Localization at your Fingertips

Our tumor 'Localization On Console' (L.O.C.) brings localization, segmentation, and simulation functions directly to the CT console.  Tumor L.O.C. can improve the efficiency and accuracy of your department, while improving patient comfort.
