Sustainability

For our customers, stakeholders and the world around us

Sustainability is an integrated part of our Refurbished Systems.

We all have a corporate responsibility to act in response to today's climate challenges.

That’s why, no matter the size, location or financial circumstances of your facility, we can provide you with reliable refurbished imaging systems through our Diamond Select program… a program with which we strive to contribute to the planet’s well-being.

A corporate responsibility

At Philips, Sustainability means creating simpler solutions with a lighter ecological footprint. With our EcoVision5 program - launched in 2010 - we are going beyond the ecological footprint.

We are focusing on areas where we believe we can have a significant impact on the health and well-being of individuals and communities. We strive relentlessly to improve the environmental performance of our products and processes, and to drive sustainability throughout the supply chain.

Our refurbished systems program
We give medical systems a second life. By refurbishing pre-owned equipment to the highest standards, you can acquire first rate imaging equipment, with a restricted budget, without compromising quality.

Preserving the environment
Compared to new equipment, refurbishing medical equipment results in a much lower ecological footprint.

• Components and materials are re-used
• Valuable resources are saved
• Emission of C02 and other chemical substances are reduced
• Fewer raw materials are consumed
• Less energy is used

Customers who choose for Diamond Select refurbished medical equipment will therefore contribute to protection of the environment.

Systems you can count on
We live up to our commitment to sustainability by participating in a voluntary agreement with COCIR* - the trade association of the medical technology industry in Europe - to improve eco-design in medical imaging equipment.

COCIR seeks to promote the development of harmonized international standards and regulatory control with respect to the quality and effectiveness of medical devices.

We have developed a qualified refurbishment program, which adheres to COCIR refurbishment guidelines. Only pre-owned medical equipment with proven, documented service histories are considered to be in line with specifications set by COCIR.

Our five step refurbishment process is also in line with the specifications set by COCIR:

  • Stringent selection
  • Skilled de-installation and transport
  • Expert refurbishing
  • Effective installation
  • Full warranty and support

COCIR’s Green Paper on Good Refurbishment Practice which sets forth guidelines for a proper refurbishment process, is considered the industry standard.
