IntelliVue Application Server

IntelliVue Application Server

Integrating remote clinical applications with real-time monitoring

The IntelliVue Application Server reaches into the hospital LAN and delivers PACS images, lab results, and other data from remote clinical applications directly to IntelliVue patient monitors and the IntelliVue Information Center.

Philips Tunneling Control Engine prioritizes physiological measurements, monitoring information, and alarms – regardless of the amount of network traffic.

The IntelliVue Application Server is a key component of the IntelliVue clinical network, a monitoring subnet that interfaces with the hospital LAN and can connect and manage up to 1,280 beds.

For example, the Application Server can deliver:

  • TraceMaster – for archived ECGs
  • EasyWeb – for still images and reports from radiology
  • On-Line Electronic Help (OLEH) for anesthesia protocols
  • Laboratory information systems (e.g., lab results)

Valuable clinical software built in
The IntelliVue Application Server includes:

  • Philips’ suite of clinical review applications for retrospective analysis of waves, trends, ST snippets, alarms, and 12-lead ECG history
  • Configurable Drug calculator
  • Advanced online help for IntelliVue patient monitors
  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer web browser

Citrix® software brings application serving technology to the clinical environment. Applications hosted on remote servers appear to run on the patient monitor.

Information convergence with portal technology
Philips portal technology enables ready access to data from the bedside patient monitor on the IntelliVue Information Center central station.

Seamless information flow within the clinical network
Offering unprecedented information access and decision support, Philips’ innovative clinical network includes portal technology, which allows care teams to view real-time physiological data on the same screen with clinical review applications, digital radiology images, archived data, lab results, medication guidelines, and hospital protocols, for example.

Information flows and converges where it’s needed most, contributing to quicker therapeutic turnaround times, a more comprehensive set of information upon which to base clinical decisions, and efficient information sharing among multidisciplinary teams.

Tunneling Control Engine ensures real-time data gets priority
Whenever remote applications are called up on an IntelliVue display, the Tunneling Control Engine acts as a clinical data crossing guard, safely prioritizing monitoring parameters, waveforms, and alarms so they always arrive at their destination in real-time – regardless of network load.
