I cannot read data from my HS1 or FRx. The connection times out or says communication failed. What's wrong?

  • The "best" distance between the Infrared (IR) adapter on the PC and the IR port on the HS1 can vary. One PC and HS1 combination may work best at 5 inches, and another may work better at 15". If you get communication errors, try increasing or decreasing the distance until the devices can communicate successfully.

  • In some cases Windows XP will be able to identify and install the corReview Express Connectt drivers for your IR adapter. In other cases, XP may install the wrong driver. (for example the Actisys IR 4000U) In those cases, follow the IR adapter vendor's instructions for installing the correct drivers. The incorrect driver may seem to be identical in all behavior to the correct one except it won't transfer the data correctly.

  • Windows XP needs a minimum of Service Pack 2 installed for most IR adapters to install and work correctly. Contact your help desk to find out if you have the service pack installed.
