Workflow

Snapshot of Xper Vascular Monitoring 5 workflow

  • The clinician imports the physician’s orders from the RIS to Xper Vascular Monitoring 5 via DICOM modality worklist SCU.

  • The clinician imports patient demographics from the hospital admission database via the Xper Connect interface.

  • The case begins and the team uses Xper Vascular Monitoring 5 to monitor the patient and gather data necessary to meet local requirements for conscious sedation monitoring.
  • To optimize workflow efficiency, one clinician monitors conscious sedation in the procedure room, while the clinician working at the optional remote station in the control room uses the customized charting menus to document procedure notes.

  • Inventory supplies are scanned with optional wireless barcode scanner and automatically captured at the point of care for charting, reporting, inventory management and billing purposes.

  • The physician discovers a lesion in the femoral artery and places a stent. Using the lower peripheral arterial anatomy template, the location and size of the lesion, as well as the stent placement, are captured graphically.

  • The case concludes. All data captured throughout the case automatically compiles into a detailed procedure report.

  • The procedure report is printed and inserted into the patient’s chart as the patient heads to recovery, ensuring that the results of the procedure are easily accessible to the next team of caregivers.

  • The physician sends a copy of the procedure report to the referring physician.

  • The procedure report is automatically exported to the patient’s electronic medical record via the Xper Connect interface.
