XIRIS Options

Digital Dictation

With the use of a hand-held device, a radiologist can now dictate into XIRIS for the transcriptionist to have access immediately over the web. Dictation can be performed on- or off-site, using the internet.

Voice Recognition

XIRIS is integrated with SpeechMagic by Philips. Reports are transcribed and proofread quickly. With speech dictation, the radiologist can instantaneously review and digitally sign a report which immediately sends it to AutoDistribution. This offers the fastest possible report turnaround time.

Visit/Encounter Manager

To improve patient care, XIRIS provides a (Visit/Encounter account) table for hospital imaging departments to track the various visits the patient experiences and the associated exams.

Patient Transport

Staff can now record type of patient transport and specific, related patient needs so that both radiology transporters and central transporters can improve efficiency. This includes the staff's ability to track when the patient is en route and if desired, what time the department wants the patient to arrive.

Instant Communication Tools

XIRIS offers instant messaging allowing XIRIS users to chat with other XIRIS users in real time. Even if a person is offline, you can leave a message. Administrators can broadcast messages to all online users and if any message is urgent, an alert will instantly come up in the recipient's screen to grab his/her attention.

Lab Result Display Feature

XIRIS offers interfaces with hospital lab systems and so improves efficiencies when required lab results must be checked in the computer, before specific imaging studies can be performed. The results are available in the exam/patient charts, which eliminates the need for phone calls.

Automatic Report Distribution

Automatic report distribution is a dynamic and cost-effective solution that gives practices the ability to automate the distribution of thousands of reports. Reports are sent to the appropriate parties using pre-defined physician distribution preferences. A physician can choose to receive reports using auto faxing, printouts or Email notifications. Physicians who have chosen email notifications review reports using their web-based access through the Referring Physicians Access Center. Printing costs and staff time are reduced and reports are available on a timely basis without the wait or cost of printing them out.

Teaching Files

Radiologists can share special cases with colleagues by marking those cases as teaching file exams and anonymizing them. Teaching files are organized by radiologist using an intuitive directory system and can be retrieved later with ease when the files are needed for presentations and conferences. This system can follow ACR Teaching file standards.

DICOM Worklist Management

With the XIRIS DICOM worklist management, technologists and radiologists can query the list of orders for the day from the modality or from the PACS without having to type the patient demographic information. This includes the staff's ability to track when the patient is en route and if desired, what time the department wants the patient to arrive.

Auto Assign Engine

XIRIS Auto Assign engine allows automatic assignment of cases to radiologists based on an extensive set of pre-defined profile rules. By defining radiologist profiles with variables such as specialty, state or country certifications, language preferences, schedule availability, modality and body part preferences and reading quotas, XIRIS automatically assigns the best choice of reading radiologist to each case. Radiologist profiles allow efficient, intelligent exam assignments to teleradiology environments where facilities work with a large number of radiologists, many of which work on an ad-hoc basis. Integrated RIS <> PACS environment images can follow the same rules. This manages the radiologist workflow and distributes the load accordingly and patients benefit from the precision of having the most appropriate group of radiologists reading cases, no matter how large the facility workload.

Nuclear Medicine / PET Special Considerations

XIRIS streamlines scheduling by enabling Nuclear Medicine and PET to be scheduled in groups with breaks in between. Studies can also be carried together in a single visit.

Remote Physician Access for Reports and Schedule

Using the internet, referring physicians can submit appointment requests, check the status of a patient's appointment, and print a customizable referral receipt with preparation instructions. Physicians now have access to reports, audios and images via an integrated PACS and can check the status of a patients' report. This maximizes operational efficiency, increases patient and referring physician satisfaction and is a great marketing tool.
