Critical Care

Predictive clinical decision support with comprehensive documentation

In the ICU, you need total command of all available information in an instant. Critical Care satisfies these intense information demands. From admissions documents to vital signs to labs to consult notes, Critical Care centralizes and organizes patient information to put the knowledge you need front and center.

Clinical Decision Support

Innovative clinical decision support tools help clinicians evaluate patients and plan interventions. Clinical advisories point out potential problems early—before they have a chance to develop. Signs of sepsis, for example, trigger an advisory that also references the bundle of interventions recommended by the international Surviving Sepsis campaign.

Patient Summary
With the overwhelming amount of data on intensive care patients, the challenge is finding a way to see just the information you need. The ICIP Critical Care Patient Summary provides a dose of clarity with filtered overviews of patient condition drawn from the vast amounts of information available in ICIP Critical Care.  The ICIP Critical Care Patient Summary lets you see multiple parts of the chart on a single screen, offering a current picture of even your sickest patients at a glance.

Care Bundles
Based on widely-accepted guidelines, care bundles can help increase the quality of care. ICIP Critical Care helps you implement evidence-based care guidelines, focusing on four key care bundles:

  • Ventilator Associated Pneumonia
  • Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infection
  • Glucose management
  • Sepsis resuscitation and management

Diagnoses and Procedures
Diagnoses and procedures can be entered either in free text, by selecting from standard coding catalogues (ICD-9, ICD-10, ICPM), or from easily integrated house catalogues (in XML format). A search engine and hit lists make it easier to find the right code quickly. Alternatively, a hospital-wide coding solution such as ID DIACOS or KODIP can be integrated transparently.

Order Management

Critical Care manages orders from start to finish. Orders for infusions, IV drops, and medications, as well as interventions, are automatically reflected throughout a patient’s chart and on nurses’ worklists. And it works seamlessly with existing CPOE and pharmacy information systems.

Scores
Measurements of mortality, outcomes, and risk are vital to unit management and as metrics for performance and quality of care in units and hospitals. ICIP Critical Care automatically calculates scores, such as SAPS II, TISS 28, Norton, Braden, the Glasgow Coma Scale, or custom scores, based on routine parameters in patient records.

Picture Documentation
Since visualization is the key to communication, let pictures do the talking in patient records. With photographic wound documentation, you get a clearer picture of the evolution of care. ICIP Critical Care integrates digital pictures as well as images from X-Ray, CT, and other modalities into the patient record.

Data Analysis and Reporting
ICIP Critical Care helps you turn data into knowledge. Its reporting database is an open and documented data warehouse. A drag-and-drop interface allows users to build tables and charts without extensive training. Automated reports help you meet regulatory mandates. The use of Data Analysis and Review tools does not affect system performance.
