Philips is aware of the recently announced Microsoft Active Template Library (ATL) vulnerability and the related Microsoft hotfixes, MS09-032, MS09-034 and MS09-035, and our product security staff continues to monitor the situation closely. Updated security information for individual Philips products is or will be posted in Philips Vulnerability Tables. Many Philips Healthcare products are not affected by this vulnerability. If systems are operated according to the manufacturer's intended use, and not for e-mail or external web browsing, the risk of infection can be minimized. Software patches will be evaluated upon release from Microsoft.
Philips sells, and helps you maintain, highly complex medical devices and systems. Only Philips-authorized changes are allowed to be made to these systems, either by Philips personnel or (for certain products) by users if under Philips explicit published authorization/directions.
