SO2 Oxygen Saturation

Monitoring to reveal more

Philips IntelliVue SO2 module allows monitoring of global tissue oxygenation of a wide range of patients, enabling earlier identification of patients at risk for cardiovascular collapse and providing valuable data for early goal-directed therapy for sepsis. IntelliVue patient monitors offer an integrated solution for continuous measurement of mixed venous oxygen saturation (SvO2) and central venous oxygen saturation (ScvO2), keeping you a vital step ahead in providing better patient care through ED, ICU, and perioperative monitoring.

Symptoms of sepsis can vary widely and appear similar to many other conditions, making late diagnosis a common occurrence. Venous oxygen saturation is a key parameter for early goal-directed therapy for sepsis. ProtocolWatch on IntelliVue patient monitors simplifies implementation of evidence-based care protocols. The Philips IntelliVue SO2 module automatically sends data to ProtocolWatch Sepsis, simplifying care, helping to reduce the mortality and costs associated with sepsis.

In a study of patients with sepsis that used ScvO2 as the main driver of therapy, the following significant outcomes have been demonstrated1:

  • Earlier identification of patients at risk for cardiovascular collapse
  • 34% reduction of in-hospital mortality
  • 3.8 days reduction in length of hospital stay
  • $12K reduction in the total hospital charges per patient

Specific features include:

  • Allows continuous invasive measurement of intravascular oxygen saturation via central line (ScvO2) or pulmonary artery catheter (SvO2)
  • Produces a continuous intravascular oxygen saturation numeric, with a light intensity bar to evaluate catheter position
  • Stores calibration values in a non-volatile memory within the optical module for transport
  • Rugged for performance under pressure in a clinical environment
  • Compatible with PULSION fiber-optic probes and Edwards Lifescience catheters
  • Compatible with IntelliVue MP40 to IntelliVue MP90 Rev. G.0 and above
