Philips and Stereotaxis solution may help improve navigation within heart’s chambers

Philips and Stereotaxis are partnering to provide an integrated solution that may help improve catheter navigation within the heart’s chambers. Through collaboration with best-in-class companies such as Stereotaxis, Philips is able to develop comprehensive solutions designed around the needs of the electrophysiologist.

Enhances care and confidence during EP interventions
The integrated solution combines Philips Allura Xper FD10 advanced interventional X-ray system with the Stereotaxis Niobe Magnetic Navigation System. This combination system enables operators to treat patients with greater confidence.

Stereotaxis and Philips supports precise catheter alignment and placement

Creating a magnetic field through the patient that interacts with a small magnet tip in the catheter, this integrated platform allows operators to align and place catheters and guidewires through the heart and the coronary vasculature. EP procedures, such as treatment of rapid rhythm of the heart (supraventricular tachycardia), as well as complex EP interventions, such as treating a fast heartbeat originating in the ventricles (ventricular tachycardia) or irregular muscle contractions in the heart (atrial arrhythmias) will benefit from this remote catheter navigation solution.

Helps reduce X-ray exposure to patient and staff in EP interventions

The basis for our integrated solution is our proven Allura Xper FD system. It is programmed with Philips dedicated EP dose-saving image protocols that deliver X-ray dose reduction to staff and patients during EP procedures. The Niobe system can be controlled in an adjacent room during EP interventions, meaning physicians and staff are not exposed to X-ray radiation.
