XIRIS Overview

Strong Security

Secure with Three Layers

It is important to protect patient information and privacy. XIRIS has three layers of security. The first layer is the application's password-protected user entry as XIRIS defines each user's access level. Second, all information is accessed through an encrypted secure server, and for the third layer of protection, we recommend that XIRIS servers are hidden behind a powerful firewall. This multi-level security configuration makes XIRIS secure.

Audit Trails

XIRIS tracks all activities on your server with the Audit Trail. Every attempt to access patient records is logged by user access. XIRIS provides a variety of report utilities, giving facilities a complete audit trail for each patient record.

Biometric Authentication

Additionally, XIRIS now offers biometric authentication to provide an even more secure way to login to the RIS, prevent identity theft and the loss or disclosure of data and related intellectual property. Biometric authentication is scalable to hundreds of thousands of users. It requires the user's unique, readily accessible fingerprint and the hardware used to store the fingerprint data requires very little physical space.

User- and Role-based Security Key Settings

XIRIS can set software security keys which control each user's access to specific functionalities of the RIS based on the user's role in the facility. For example a technologist will have access to the Mark Exam Done worklist. Additional definitions can be added to each user's key setting further enabling or limiting capabilities on a per person basis. For example, only the technologist admin will have the ability to override specific information input by a technologist.
